This 1 hour session is essential CPD for anyone involved in supporting struggling readers. We will consider current research evidence re the ‘science of reading’ and unpick this in a practical way, ensuring that all delegates leave the session with a deep understanding of the ‘reading jigsaw’.

This session will:
  • Explore the essential knowledge, skills and behaviours pupils need to become successful readers.
  • Examine the ‘science of reading’ (including phonological awareness, comprehension monitoring and fluency) and what it means for all those involved in supporting struggling readers in Secondary School.
