Poem A Day Project

Poem a Day
The Primary Poem a Day Project!

We are so excited to launch our ‘Poem A Day’ Project! The aim of the project is to encourage teachers to commit to sharing a poem with their class on a daily basis ( this could be the teacher choosing and reading the poem or the children taking in turns to do this or a mixture). We are passionate about getting teachers and children excited about poetry as we believe it can have a positive impact not only on children’s vocabulary and understanding of sentence structure but even more importantly, poetry can foster empathy and bring joy and magic into children’s lives!

The project is fully funded by us and is totally free to register. As part of the project you will have access to an hour of Zoom training per term – two of these sessions will be led by the fabulous poet Sally Crabtree from Mousehole in Cornwall! You will also benefit from free resources and book recommendations.

The project will run until the end of the summer term – July 2022 and there is no deadline to register so please share this information with any teachers who you think might be interested!

To be part of the project you will be required to :

  1. Complete a before and after questionnaire with your class
  2. Share a poem a day with your class
  3. Attend the free Zoom training sessions
  4. Share your Poem Of The Week (as voted by your class) on your preferred social media platform linking to our project (full details when you register).

We really hope you would like part – if so simply drop us an email for full details: [email protected] or you can book here.

Hope to see you there!
