KS1 Success!
Creating Wonderful Writers and Remarkable Readers by the end of KS1
This practical day will provide an opportunity for Year 2 teachers and teaching assistants to explore fun, active strategies to develop confident, successful readers and writers.
We will explore:
- The teacher assessment framework for writing – unpicking the criteria and considering how we can develop pupils’ writing in Year 2 with end of KS1 assessment in mind.
- The teacher assessment framework for reading – unpicking the criteria for Working at the Expected Standard and Working at Greater Depth to ensure all pupils experience success.
- Tried and tested strategies for developing fluent, confident readers who read for understanding and enjoyment.
- How to fulfil the expectations for grammar, punctuation and spelling at the end of KS1 through fun, active games and strategies.
